Welcome to Fledglings Nursery, where exceptional childcare is our top priority.

Fledglings Nursery is open Monday – Friday, from 8:00am until 6:00pm, for 51 weeks of the year; closing for 5 working days at Christmas, and for all public holidays.

Fledglings is situated in the charming town of Berkhamsted, nestled within acres of breath-taking grounds. Since 2001, we have been proudly delivering excellent and reliable childcare services, earning an outstanding reputation within the local community. Our track record speaks volumes about our unwavering commitment to the well-being and development of every child in our care.

Ducklings (6 Months - 2 Years)

When parents leave their young children in our care they can be assured of individual attention from a dedicated key person. The physical care and routine of a baby's day is a vital part of the ''curriculum''.

Goslings (2 Years - 3 Years)

At Fledglings, we recognise that education begins in the home. We work closely with parents to provide continuity in their child's progress. Key persons care for children in small groups at this age,.

Cygnets (3 Years - 5 Years)

Our Cygnet children follow a slightly more structured day, whilst still strongly focusing on learning through play. As with the Ducklings and Goslings age groups, the Cygnets follow the Early Years Foundation.

Care & Learning

We love caring for your little ones and with our help here at Fledglings your little ones will get all the love and care they require as well as a great learning experience to follow.

Learning through play

Children have plenty of opportunity for free play. From the fun of our ”soft play” equipment to enjoying fortnightly music and movement lessons Hartbeeps, all ages have a choice of fun activities.

Key Person

At Fledglings nursery we follow a Key Person system. Each child will have a key person, who is responsible for observing, monitoring and planning activites for them.

Early Years Foundation Stage

At Fledglings we follow the Early Years Foundation Stage, EYFS. This is a ‘curriculum’ for children from 0 – 5 years old.
